Operation Chief Mike Davis started his fire career in 1988 with the City Of Grass Valley in California. During his career in California he worked and trained with Cal Fire and the U.S. forest Service in wild land firefighting. Operation Chief Davis moved to South Carolina in 1995 and worked for the Myrtle Beach International Airport, until July 1996 when he joined the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety.
Career & Education
Operation Chief Davis became Lieutenant in 2000, and Operation Chief in 2005. Operation Chief Davis heads up our Wild land team and has been deployed to wildfires in Texas, California, and Oregon through the South Carolina Forestry Commission. Operation Chief Davis is a member of the Pee Dee Type 3 All Hazards Incident Management Team. He has an associate’s degree from Pike’s Peak Community College in Colorado Springs in Fire Technology and a Bachelors Degree from Ashworth University in Public Administration. He is currently working on a Masters in Fire Science.
