Technical Rescue Program

Our Technical Rescue Program (TRP) consists of members primarily assigned to Truck 1 and Squad 3 who are specialized in areas such as:

• Confined space operations
• Hazardous materials response
• Rope rescue situations
• Search and rescue operations
• Trench rescue

Specialized equipment for these types of incidents are carried on Truck 1, Squad 3, our Heavy Rescue as well as the Technical Rescue trailer. Our team coordinates and trains with our mutual aid agencies as well as regional and state USAR teams. Team members participate in numerous drills throughout each year in order to be able to perform at the best possible level they can.

Special Events Response Team

Our Special Events Response Team was created in 2007 as a way to improve the abilities of personnel to address medical emergencies during the numerous festivals and special events held in our city each year. Team Members utilize Department Bicycles and UTV’s throughout the year on Main Street, the Sports Complex, and various other locations. Events such as the Irish-Italian Festival, Monday after the Masters, St. Patricks Day Parade to name a few, all draw large crowds to the area. Having the ability to move in and around crowds quickly is essential in the event of an emergency.
