NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS’ MEMORIAL FLAG TO BE PRESENTED MAY 15 IN NORTH MYRTLE BEACH
Saturday, May 15, is National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Day.
At 12:00 pm on May 15, in front of the North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department building on Second Avenue South, department officials will receive a National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Flag. This particular flag is certified as having been flown over the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial in Washington D.C. on April 13, 2021. It will be presented to the department by Congressman Tom Rice’s office.
The public is invited to attend this event.
Following flag protocol for National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Day, the department will lower the American flag to half-staff at 6:00 am on May 15, and at 12:00 pm the department will accept the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial flag. North Myrtle Beach Police Sgt. William McLeod will then place the flag underneath the American flag and raise both to full staff. The National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial flag will fly until Monday morning.
